My favorite quote is: “You cannot fight against the ego and win, just as you cannot fight against darkness; the light of consciousness is all that is necessary. You are that light.” I love this quote because it reminds me of my past struggles. I remember the times I fought against financial difficulties, conflicts with loved ones, and the end of relationships—whether I ended them or they ended them.
It’s quite simple. During those tough times, I viewed my lack of money, family issues, and ex-partners as the enemies. That’s why I fought so hard against them. But through meditation, my perspective changed completely. I realized that these struggles were just reflections of a deeper issue—my own ego.
Now, when I face a difficult situation or start to feel a hint of conflict, I pause and ask myself, “What is this person showing me?” If they’re reflecting my own self-centered ego, I understand that this ego is not my true self, but a false illusion. I then thank that person for helping me see the part of me that needs to change.
This shift has transformed how I view the world. Where I once saw darkness, I now see only positive light.
